Daniel Lommatzsch, born in Hamburg in 1977, studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 1998. His first permanent engagement was at the Schauspielhaus Zürich under the directorship of Christoph Marthaler.
Zurich was followed by engagements at the Staatstheater Hannover and the Thalia Theater Hamburg.
He has also worked as a freelance actor with Stefan Pucher, Jette Steckel, Jan Bosse, Wilfried Minks, Nuran David Calis, Antu Numero Nunes and Nicolas Stemann, with whom he returned to Zurich in 2019.Although Daniel Lommatzsch also frequently plays television and film roles (in the feature film The Baader Meinhof Complex, for example, he played the RAFThe Baader Meinhof Complex, for example, he played the RAF terrorist Christian Klar), his artistic work continues to focus on theater.
