Daniel Lommatzsch

Daniel Lommatzsch, born in 1977 in Hamburg, started his studies in acting at the University of Performing Arts Ernst Busch in1998. His first ensemble was at Schauspielhaus Zurich, where he now returns. After Zurich, he was a member of the ensembles at Staatstheater Hannover and Thalia Theater Hamburg. He has also worked as a freelance actor with Stefan Pucher, Jette Steckel, Jan Bosse, Wilfried Minks, Nuran David Calis, Antu Numero Nunes and Nicolas Stemann, who he joined in his move to Zurich in 2019. Although Daniel Lommatzsch continues to appear in television and film (he, for example, played the RAF-terrorist Christian Klar in the feature film The Baader Meinhof Complex) the theatre remains the focus of his artistic activity. Daniel Lommatzsch is also an author and director. His first feature film, Am Ende ist man tot, released in 2018, featured nearly the entire ensemble of the Thalia Theater Hamburg. He is currently working on the script for his next film.
