The Napf area lies between Lucerne and Bern, and at the back of this widely ramified labyrinth is the Änziloch. 12-year-old Laura, the only daughter on the remote Köhler farm, knows the horror stories about the forest-shadowed gorge only too well. Alone with her dreams, fears and her diary, her thirst for knowledge smolders that summer.
