Christa Tobler

Christa Tobler (born 1961 in Brugg AG) teaches as Professor of European Law at the European Institutes of the University of Basel and the University of Leiden. The focus of her academic work is European law, in particular questions of legal equality in EU law, both in commercial law and in social law. She also specialises in the legal relationship between Switzerland and the EU, so-called bilateral law.
Christa Tobler is a regular judge at the European Law Moot Court Competition. In 2008, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Academy of European Law (ERA). She is an expert in a European Commission network on discrimination issues and a member of the editorial board of the Swiss Journal of International and European Law.
