Sebastian Rudolph was born in Berlin in 1968. After dropping out of his acting studies, he first worked with his theater group in the independent scene and then at all the major theaters in the German-speaking world.
He was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schiller Theater in Berlin, worked at the Schauspielhaus Zürich under the directorship of Christoph Marthaler and most recently at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. He has had a significant influence on works by Luc Bondy, Falk Richter, Stefan Pucher, Luk Perceval, Jette Steckel, Johan Simons and Nicolas Stemann, as whose Faust will also be seen in the repertoire of the Schauspielhaus Zürich, and for whose performance he was named Actor of the Year by Theater heute in 2012. Sebastian Rudolph was also Christoph Schlingensief's Hamlet. He also works as a narrator in numerous radio play productions, reads audio books and gives readings. With films such as Manta - Der Film, Stalingrad, Die Spiegel Affäre, Der Hauptmann and Dark, he has also appeared in front of the camera for television and cinema films. Sebastian Rudolph has three children, loves sailing and has been back at Schauspielhaus Zürich since summer 2019.
