Monika Huber

Monika Huber studied musicology, theatre studies, art history (Magistra Phil.) and acting in Vienna. During her studies she assisted in the departments of production, dramaturgy and directing (Salzburg Festival, Artes Iuventutis etc.). 

Subsequently, she worked as an actress in theatre (Burgtheater Wien, Wiener Festwochen with Martin Kušej, Andrea Breth, Thomas Langhoff, Ulrich Rasche, Peter Mussbach, among others), in film (Das Wunder von Kärnten, directed by Andreas Prochaska, Soko Donau, Janus etc.) and as a narrator for ORF, radio plays, documentaries, commercials. 

From 2008 to 2015 she worked as a broadcaster, host and editor for the classical music station Radio Klassik Stephansdom, and in 2015/2016 she was a contributor and editor for the cultural editorial department of ORF/Television. 

From 2016 she has been working as freelance editor in the cultural sector (Diners Club Magazine, Verlag Mediengruppe Österreich) as well as dramaturgy and artistic consulting at the Bronski & Grünberg Theatre, Vienna. 

2017 to 2019 she was responsible for the production office at Theater Basel (artistic director Andreas Beck). 

From 2017 she has been offering performance and speech coaching for people in artistic professions (including at the Kunstmuseum Basel). Monika Huber has been studying for an Executive Master in Arts Administration at the University of Zurich since 2020. She is a scholarship holder of the University of Zurich, the Boner Foundation for Art and Culture, the Josef P. and Nelly Spiess-Mohn Foundation and the Gertraud Rüegg Foundation. In her final thesis, she focuses on structural work processes for more diversity and equal opportunities in the theatre. 

From the start of the 2019/20 season, Monika Huber has been responsible for production management, special events and guest performances, artistic operations office at the Schauspielhaus Zürich.​​
