Lioba Lea Bangert, born 1995 in Berlin, studied architecture at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Glasgow School of Art - Mackintosh School of Architecture. During this time, she worked for Staab Architekten, wrote for Protocol - Magazine for Architecture in Context and was a tutor at the Chair of Architectural History and Theory of Prof Michael Bollé at the Berlin University of the Arts.
She created her first works as a stage and costume designer during her architectural studies, including at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts and at Chemnitz Theatre. As an artistic stage assistant, she was involved with Eva Veronica Born in an interdisciplinary production by the Chinese theatre collective Paper Tiger Theater Studio, directed by Tian Gebing, which was shortlisted for the 2024 Berliner Festspiele Theatertreffen.
In the 2023/24 season, she repeatedly assisted at Schauspielhaus Zürich, and since the 2024/25 season she has been a permanent stage design assistant at Schauspielhaus Zürich. In the 2024/25 season, she will design the stage for the song recital ‘Lass uns “n Wunder sein” on the Pfauenbühne, the stage and costumes for “Das weiße Dorf” as part of the Long Night of the Assistants and, as artistic director, the overall set for the “Schiffbaufest” at the opening of the season and “Ciao, Adieu, Danke” at the end of the season.
