The Schauspielhaus Zürich processes personal data collected during visits to our websites exclusively in accordance with legal provisions, particularly taking into account Article 13, Paragraph 2 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the federal data protection provisions (Federal Act on Data Protection [FADP] of September 25, 2020, and the Data Protection Ordinance [DPO] of August 31, 2022). Personal data is treated as strictly confidential and is neither sold nor passed on to third parties. It is important to us that you know at all times which data we store and how we use it. Below, we would like to briefly outline how the Schauspielhaus Zürich processes your data and what this specifically means for you when using our services.
1. PERSONAL DATA
Personal data consists of individual details about natural persons that allow conclusions to be drawn about your personal, economic, or factual circumstances. This includes, for example, address data. Information that is not directly linked to your identity does not fall under this category.
2. WHAT DATA IS STORED BY SCHAUSPIELHAUS ZÜRICH?
Personal data is only collected if you provide it to us voluntarily as part of a ticket purchase or when registering for the newsletter. To purchase tickets online, you must create a customer account. For bookings made by telephone or in writing, your customer account will be created by the Schauspielhaus Zürich. When setting up the customer account, the Schauspielhaus Zürich collects your name, address, email address, and, if applicable, your telephone number.
3. HOW IS DATA TRANSMITTED?
The Schauspielhaus Zürich uses a secure online transmission process for online bookings, known as "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) transmission, to process your personal details. All information transmitted using this method is encrypted at a high level (at least 128-bit – up to 256-bit with common browsers) before being sent to us. This ensures, as far as possible, that no unauthorized person can use your details.
4. HOW IS DATA USED?
The Schauspielhaus Zürich uses the data provided by you to fulfill and process the contract for the purchase of tickets. Within this framework, the Schauspielhaus Zürich uses the data to inform you about the booked performance, any changes to the program, or directions, among other things. If the Schauspielhaus Zürich has received your address or email address in connection with the purchase of a ticket, the Schauspielhaus Zürich may also use this data for direct marketing of other performances by the Schauspielhaus Zürich, unless you have objected to such use. Such an objection is possible at any time and can be addressed to: theaterkasse@schauspielhaus.ch or Schauspielhaus Zürich AG, Falkenstrasse 1, CH-8008 Zurich. In the event of an objection, your customer data will be stored for ten years together with booking records in accordance with legal retention obligations but will no longer be used for direct marketing by the Schauspielhaus. When you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address will be used exclusively for the Schauspielhaus Zürich's own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Unsubscribing is possible at any time. The unsubscribe link can be found at the end of every newsletter.
5. IS DATA SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES?
Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will neither be sold nor passed on to third parties, unless this is necessary for the processing of payment transactions or for mailings. In such cases, we have entered into agreements with the commissioned companies that ensure compliance with data protection regulations and the immediate deletion of data that is no longer required.
