
Dominic Huber is a scenographer and director who explores ways of expanding theatrical experiences of reality. Since graduating from ETH Zurich with a degree in architecture, he has created numerous exhibition projects and stage designs in cities including Zurich, Basel, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Vienna, Brussels and Lausanne. He regularly collaborates with Sebastian Nübling, Lola Arias, Toshiki Okada, and Yana Eva Thönnes. His theatre installations include ‘Hotel Savoy’ in New York and at HAU Berlin, and ‘Forever Yours’. ‘House’, an installation set in a residential building, has been exhibited in Buenos Aires, Warsaw, Jerusalem and other locations. Since 2008, Dominic Huber has collaborated with Stefan Kaegi and Rimini Protokoll on projects including ‘Situation Rooms’, ‘Nachlass’, ‘This Is Not an Embassy’ and, most recently, ‘Spiegelneuronen’ at the Salzburger Festspiele. Many of these projects have toured worldwide. In 2009, Dominic Huber was awarded a working scholarship by the City of Zurich to spend time in New York City. He currently teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts. Three of his projects — ‘Situation Rooms’ (Rimini Protokoll), ‘The Vacuum Cleaner’ and ‘Doughnuts’ (directed by Toshiki Okada) — were invited to the Theatertreffen festival in Berlin. In 2019, he received the Swiss Theatre Award from the Federal Office of Culture. He resides in Zurich, where his works are regularly featured on various stages.P
