Dominic Huber

Dominic Huber works as a scenographer and director, expanding experiences of reality in theatrical contexts. Since studying architecture at ETH Zurich, he has created numerous stage designs in addition to exhibition projects in Zurich, Basel, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Vienna, Brussels and Lausanne, among other places. He regularly collaborates with Sebastian Nübling, Lola Arias, Toshiki Okada and Yana Eva Thönnes. His own theatre installations include ‘Hotel Savoy’ in New York and at HAU Berlin, as well as "Forever Yours. House‘ – a residential building installation that has been shown in Buenos Aires, Warsaw and Jerusalem, among other places. Dominic Huber has been working with Stefan Kaegi and Rimini Protokoll since 2008, resulting in projects such as ’Situation Rooms‘, “Nachlass”, ’This Is Not an Embassy‘ and, most recently, ’Spiegelneuronen" at the Salzburg Festival. Many of these projects have toured worldwide. In 2009, Dominic Huber received a working scholarship from the City of Zurich for a stay in New York City. He teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts. Three of his projects, Situation Rooms (Rimini Protokoll), The Vacuum Cleaner and Doughnuts (directed by Toshiki Okada), were invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen. In 2019, he received the Swiss Theatre Award from the Federal Office of Culture. He lives in Zurich, where his work can be seen regularly on various stages.
