Marie Schleef

After graduating from school in Eswatini, Marie Schleef studied in New York and Berlin. One of her first productions was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen. In 2021, the director was awarded the international CHANEL Next Prize and in 2023 the Kurt Hübner Prize. Her artistic interest lies in the unknown and forgotten, which she translates into a novel stage language. She primarily stages themes and texts by and about women* that have not yet been performed in German-speaking countries.
