OPENING NIGHT PARTY

HOSTED BY: Mohamed Bourouissa

SCHIFFBAU FOYER

Bring the first day of the Zurich Art Weekend to a close at Schiffbau – with the official afterparty for the opening of Mohamed Bourouissa’s exhibition POUR NOUBIA at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst.

Following the vernissage at the museum, Bourouissa invites you to continue the evening with a late-night party at Schiffbau. Starting at 10 PM, he presents a line-up featuring DJ Nadia Keira (Paris) and DJ Modulaw (Zurich/Paris), extending the exhibition into a collaborative, celebratory space.

The party is organized in cooperation with the Schauspielhaus Zürich and curated by the artist himself, transforming the opening night into an immersive experience of music, community, and celebration.

We cordially invite you to join us on the dance floor and continue celebrating the opening night together.

LINE-UP & BIOGRAPHIES
The Algerian-French photographer and artist Mohamed Bourouissa is a portraitist of our time – both a storyteller and an inventor. People are at the very heart of his work. He creates spaces that bring us closer to the lives of those who are usually left out of mainstream media, politics, and art history. Bourouissa’s works are sometimes documentary, sometimes fictional, but they are always built on lived experiences – experiences of the artist himself or of people close to him: his friends and acquaintances in the Paris banlieues, the Maghrebi communities in Gennevilliers, a long-term patient at the psychiatric clinic in Blida, or members of his family. He lives in Paris.

Having been passionate about music from an early age, Nadia Keira has developed an ever-evolving musical signature over the years. Her sets blend Afro-fusion, electronic music, and hip-hop, inviting the audience on hybrid, intuitive sonic journeys made for dancing.

Merlin Modulaw is a sound architect who creates immersive worlds through sound. His work encompasses composition, production, performance, multimedia, and spatial audio design, combining experimental electronics and sound art with classical music, rap, dancehall, R&B, and global club styles. Trained in sound design and electroacoustic composition, he explores video and print alongside music, creating hybrid works that blur the boundaries between genres and media. Through innovative sound design and versatile performances – ranging from DJ sets to installations – Modulaw continuously pushes the boundaries of artistic expression.
