A family show for ages 6+

Asteroid B612 is an unusual celestial body: the sun sets there forty-three times while only a single day passes on Earth. It is home to a sheep, a few baobab trees, a rose with four thorns – and once to the Little Prince, until he fled the whims of the capricious rose. Since then, he travels from planet to planet. Most of them are small, and their inhabitants are lonely and strange. Only on Earth does the Little Prince encounter a multitude of living beings: animals, plants, humans. But with every encounter, his longing deepens – for those he left behind, and for the forty-three sunsets of Asteroid B612.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s fantastical tale has, to this day, been translated into 618 languages and dialects. The author himself did not live to witness its extraordinary success. One year after the book’s publication, the pilot crashed during a reconnaissance flight into the Bay of Marseille. With DER KLEINE PRINZ, he left behind a timeless tribute to closeness. Director Antú Romero Nunes, known for his imaginative and playful theatre productions, turns them into an interstellar journey for all generations on the stage of the Pfauen. He returns to Schauspielhaus Zürich thirteen years after his production of “Alice im Wunderland”.
