Katja Brunner, a brilliant wordsmith and one of Switzerland’s most successful contemporary playwrights, returns to the Schauspielhaus for the premiere of her new book DIE KUNST DER WUNDE (published in 2026 by ‘Der gesunde Menschenversand’). Together with artists working at the intersection of music, video and literature, as well as investigative journalists, she reflects on collective memory and political responsibility: Whose vulnerability is precious, whose vulnerability counts (or does not count)? What is the tension between the individual and the state’s power to standardise? Can literary art even counteract the decline of democracy?

Between literary premieres and insights into research methods relating to property ownership, rap icon Big Zis performs tracks from her latest release, BIG HUG. Video artist Heta Multanen presents a video based on Katja Brunner’s DIE KUNST DER WUNDE – Noah Oliel, a work exploring cheese as a tradition.
