A Journey with Blixa Bargeld
PFAUEN
ZÜRCHER POETIKVORLESUNG: 20.11.2026
Blixa Bargeld is an icon of the Berlin underground: frontman of Einstürzende Neubauten, longtime guitarist with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, poet, performer, and sound researcher. For decades, he has operated at the intersection of music, language, and performance.
As part of this year's poetics lecture "A Journey with Blixa Bargeld," hosted by the Department of German Studies at the University of Zurich, he offers insights into his work spanning text, voice, and music.
Following the first two evenings at Literaturhaus Zürich, the journey continues at the Schauspielhaus: In his Solo Speech Lecture Performance, Bargeld combines spoken word, lecture, and musical improvisation. Words are spoken, rhythmized, repeated, and transformed into sound—the voice itself becomes an instrument.
A unique evening with an exceptional artist bridging sound and language.
