Jessica Rockstroh was born in Stuttgart, where she studied set and costume design at the State Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Jürgen Rose. This was followed by a three-year period as an assistant, during which she worked primarily with the set designer Martin Zehetgruber. Since 1998, she has been working as a freelance set and costume designer in the fields of drama and musical theatre at various theatres, including the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the National Theatre Ljubljana, the Burgtheater Vienna, the Volkstheater Munich, the Schauspiel Leipzig, the Schauspiel Köln and the Berliner Ensemble. Jessica Rockstroh is currently working with the directors Itay Tiran, Martin Kušej, Fritzi Wartenberg, Elsa-Sophie Jach and Lucia Bihler. Their joint production ‘Die Eingeborenen von Maria Blut’ (Burgtheater Vienna) has been invited to the Theatertreffen 2023.
