Male Günther studied Greek Philology, Philosophy, and European Ethnology and worked as a research associate at Kiel University before entering the theatre world through internships at Schauspiel Köln and Thalia Theater Hamburg. After working as an assistant director, production manager, and dramaturg in the independent theatre scene, she became a dramaturg at Theater Bonn in 2016. As a freelance dramaturg, she developed projects with the collective RAUM+ZEIT and worked as a script reader. Since 2023, she has been a dramaturg at Schauspielhaus Graz.
