Marco Käppeli studied at the Swiss Jazz School Bern with Billy Brooks. He is the leader of his own bands, such as AMI RO-RO, Marco Käppeli Selection and M.K. & The Even Odds, and is also a member of Joe Malinga's Southern Africa Force. He works with trumpeter Peter Schärli in a trio and sextet and is a member of the Koch-Schütz-Käppeli trio and the Häusermann-Käppeli-Meier trio. His artistic profile is characterised by various film and theatre scores as well as engagements as an actor and theatre musician. He has performed at international jazz festivals in Montreux, Willisau, Zurich, Berlin, Le Mans, Leipzig, Jazzyatra India and elsewhere. Concerts and tours have taken him to the USA, South America, Russia, Japan and Australia, among other places. In 2011, he received the Culture Prize of the City of Aarau.
