
Marlene Buchser works at the intersection of communication, culture and marketing. She studied communication science with law and business administration at the University of Zurich and completed a master's degree in social policy at the University of Fribourg. After initial professional experience in the non-profit and agency sectors, she spent several years overseeing communication and sponsorship for cultural and large-scale commercial events. An internship at Schauspielhaus Graz marked her first encounter with theatre as an institution. As an independent consultant, she implemented campaigns and projects for international clients. Most recently, she was the agency-side project lead for the new visual identity of Schauspielhaus Zürich for the 2025/26 season. With the beginning of the Karabulut-Sanchez artistic directorship, she took over as Head of Marketing & Communications at Schauspielhaus Zürich.
