
Moritz Sauer is an actor, performer, and writer for film and theatre. He received his initial artistic training at the Maxim Gorki Theater, then worked as a freelance performer before pursuing a Master's degree in Acting / Performative Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts. They have collaborated with directors such as Paul Spittler, Wang Ping-Hsiang, Isabella Sedlak, and cmd+c.
In the field of film, he has been involved in projects by Rosa von Praunheim, Urša Kastellic, and Roman Toulany. Institutional collaborations include Schauspielhaus Zürich, Roxy Birsfelden, Dampfzentrale Bern, Tanzhaus Zürich, Studio Я of the Maxim Gorki Theater, Ballhaus Ost in Berlin, the International Theatre Festival MESS/Scene MESS in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the festivals zadar snova in Croatia and Open Futures in Switzerland.
As an EXPERT BY IDENTITY, she performs stand-up comedy, which continually feeds into her autofictional, performance-based writing practice. Her most recent special is titled: NICE BITCH. Moritz Sauer lives between Berlin and Zurich.
