Barbara Tacchini, born in Basel, is a dramaturge, director and cultural mediator. She develops and stages musical theatre productions with professionals and amateurs, often in inclusive settings. As a dramaturge, she also supports composers and directors in the creative process of musical theatre productions. Her freelance projects and engagements have taken her to the State Opera Houses in Hanover and Stuttgart (director of the Stuttgart Youth Opera from 2006 to 2016), as well as to the Kammerorchester Basel, Konzert Theater Bern, Theater Winterthur, Bühne Aarau, Kulturkosmonauten St. Gallen, and Konzert und Theater St. Gallen, among others. In 2025, she is the recipient of a cultural grant from the Canton of Thurgau. She and Ruedi Häusermann have collaborated regularly since 2003.
