Rebecca Ajnwojner

Rebecca Ajnwojner studied psychology in Heidelberg and dramaturgy in Frankfurt am Main and Tel Aviv. Since completing her studies and later in her work as a dramaturge at the Maxim Gorki Theater, she has been concerned with issues of representation of marginalized communities in art, culture, and science. She works as a curator and freelance dramaturge, including for the Grimme Prize-winning documentary film SISTERQUEEN. After a research stay at Yale University, she completed her doctoral project on representation criticism and strategic essentialism. Ajnwojner was a scholarship holder of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Study Foundation. Together with Carolin Hochleichter, Rebecca Ajnwojner is curating the Wiesbaden Biennale 2025 at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden. Since Karabulut and Sanchez took over as artistic directors, Ajnwojner has been a dramaturge at the Schauspielhaus Zurich.
