Talia Paulette Oliveras and Nia Farrell (collectively, Ta-Nia) are a duo dedicated to challenging the boundaries of theater to create uncompromising Blk spaces of liberation. Known for creating poetic characters and liberatory worlds, they invite the audience to engage in a (re)imagination of our contemporary world and offer practices for actualizing near futures.
As part of the “Stückemarkt” at the Berlin Theatertreffen 2021, Ta-Nia won a play commission for Schauspiel Dortmund, which they premiered in 2023 titled, Ewigkeit, Ende und alles, was niemals begann. They’ve also created/developed work in Germany for Hessisches Landestheater Marburg, and in New York at Mercury Store, Playwrights Realm, Soho Rep (Writer/Director Lab; A Map to Nowhere Things Are), and Ars Nova (ANT Fest; Dreams in Blk Major).
(WHAT YOU’LL FIND) ON THE WAY TO BECOMING, which will premiere in the Schiffbau Box in the 2025/26 season, is the first production by Ta-Nia to be seen in Switzerland
