Jacob Suske

Jacob Suske, born in Graz, is a musician, composer and director. He studied jazz bass in Bern and Lucerne and has worked as a bassist with Bonaparte, One Shot Orchestra, Julian Sartorius, Lunik and Sophie Hunger, among others. As a composer for theater music, he has worked with directors such as Lucia Bihler, Jan-Christoph Gockel, Christopher Rüping and Christoph Mehler. These works have taken him to the Burgtheater Vienna, the Berliner Volksbühne, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Nationaltheater Oslo, the Ukrainian Nationaltheater Lviv, the Schaubühne Berlin, the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Berlin Theatertreffen, among others. He has directed his own productions (sometimes as part of the directing duo Tuschy/Suske) at Staatstheater Hannover, Theater Bonn, Theater Bielefeld, Theater Luzern and Schauspielhaus Wien. Suske is also part of the artist duo «Classic Cars Studio» with Amandine Monsterlet and writes soundtracks for radio and film.

From 2015 to 2018, Suske worked as a dramaturge and musician in the artistic management team at Schauspielhaus Vienna. In Vienna, Suske has also curated the interdisciplinary Sägezahn Festival together with Samuel Schaab since 2016.
