
Daniel Murena, born in 1979 in Munich, is a composer for theatre and film and the lead singer of the band Murena Murena. Musically influenced by stays as a child in Italy and later, as an adult, in 1990s New York, he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 2002 to 2006 and began releasing various recordings. Since 2006, Murena has composed numerous soundtracks for films and stage productions. Collaborations with directors such as Pınar Karabulut, Felicitas Brucker, Fausto Molina, Uisenma Borchu, Tobias Yves Zintel, Roger Vontobel, and Robert Lehniger have taken him to venues including the Schauspielhaus Zürich, Münchner Kammerspiele, Deutsches Theater and Volksbühne Berlin, Schauspiel Köln, Theater Basel, Theater am Neumarkt, the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, the Théâtre National de la Colline in Paris, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, and the Volkstheater Wien.
