Jennifer Victoria Scurrell is a postdoctoral researcher, scientist, and founder working at the intersection of Human-AI Interaction and Design, Responsible AI and Pluralistic Alignment, as well as AI Safety and Red Teaming. Jennifer received her PhD in March 2026 from ETH Zurich. In her dissertation she examined how AI chatbots influence human opinions and behaviour in group environments.
In 2023, Jennifer was a PhD research intern at Microsoft Research (HQ Redmond, WA, USA) working on generative AI. Additionally, Jennifer is a Red Teamer and advisor for generative AI systems, assessing cutting-edge AI models such as OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Deep Research as a member of OpenAI’s Red Teaming Network (on contract basis).
Prior to her PhD at ETH Zürich, Jennifer worked as a research collaborator at the Military Academy at ETH Zürich (MILAK). She holds a PhD in Science from ETH Zurich (Dr. sc.), an MA in Political Science and a BA in Political Science and Modern History from the University of Zurich. During her MA, she specialized in Computational Social Science. During her BA, she completed an internship at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, contributing to the EU’s GDPR.
