Lothar Kittstein

Lothar Kittstein, born in Trier in 1970, studied German language and literature, history and philosophy. After gaining his doctorate in modern history at the University of Bonn (2001), he worked for three years as a personnel consultant in a small management consultancy. From 2005-2007, Kittstein worked as a dramaturge at the Cologne theatre. Since 2005 he has worked as a freelance author and playwright. He has written texts for theatres and independent theatre groups throughout the German-speaking world. Among others, Kittstein has written for Schauspiel Köln, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Residenztheater München, Kammerspiele München and Berliner Ensemble. He has also written radio plays for Deutschlandfunk and WDR. In 2009, he founded the collective RAUM + ZEIT with Bernhard Mikeska and Alexandra Althoff, for whose immersive theatre projects numerous texts have been written.
