Lioba Lea Bangert

Lioba Lea Bangert holds an M.A. in Architecture from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and the Glasgow School of Art – Mackintosh School of Architecture. During her studies, she worked for Staab Architekten, wrote for Protocol – Magazine for Architecture in Context, and served as a tutor for undergraduate students at the Chair of Architectural History and Theory under Prof. Michael Bollé at UdK Berlin.

Her first independent works as a set and costume designer emerged during her architecture studies, including projects at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts and Theater Chemnitz. As an Artistic Associate for Set Design, she collaborated with Eva Veronica Born on a cross-disciplinary production by the Chinese collective Paper Tiger Theater Studio (directed by Tian Gebing), which was shortlisted for the 2024 Berliner Theatertreffen. After several guest assistantships at Schauspielhaus Zürich during the 2023/24 season, she joined the theater as a permanent Assistant Set Designer for the 2024/25 season. There, she has been involved in productions by directors such as Joana Tischkau, Leonie Böhm, Jan Bosse, Bonn Park, Sebastian Hartmann, Marie Schleef, Pınar Karabulut, and Calixto Bieito. In the 2024/25 season, her design work includes: Set Design: LASS UNS ‘N WUNDER SEIN (Song Recital) at the Pfauen stage. Set & Costume Design: DAS WEISSE DORF as part of the Lange Nacht der Assistierenden. Artistic Direction/Scenography: The season-opening SCHIFFBAUFEST and the season finale CIAO, ADIEU, DANKE.

For the 2025/26 season, she will also serve as a member of the Ensemble Representation (Ensemblevertretung).
