Lena Schwarz

Lena Schwarz, born in Stuttgart, studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and was a member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Bochum from 2000 to 2006, where she worked with directors Niklas Helbling, Jan Bosse, Lisa Nielebock, Martin Fendrich, Jürgen Gosch, and Elmar Goerden. She is a co-founder of the independent theatre venue ROTTSTR5 in Bochum and has performed as a freelance actor in Bochum, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Munich since 2007. From 2010 to 2012 Lena Schwarz was an ensemble member at Schauspiel Köln, where she collaborated with director Karin Henkel on productions such as The Cherry Orchard (2011) and The Rats (2013), both of which were invited to Berlin Theatertreffen. Since the 2013/14 season, Lena Schwarz has been a member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Zurich, where she has performed in such productions as Karin Henkel’s Elektra (2013), Amphitryon und sein Doppelgänger (2014, invited to Berliner Theatertreffen), The Ten Commandments (2015) and BEUTE FRAUEN KRIEG (2017, invited to Swiss and Berlin Theatertreffen) as well as in Mass for Mass (directed by Jan Bosse), Homo Faber (directed by Bastian Kraft) and Sibylle Berg’s Good Cooking (directed by Sebastian Nübling).
