Moritz Frischkorn

Moritz Frischkorn first studied General and Comparative Literature and Political Science at the FU Berlin and the Université Paris XIII before completing his artistic training as a dancer and choreographer in Salzburg (SEAD), Stockholm (DOCH) and Hamburg (MA Performance Studies, Uni Hamburg). In 2021 he defended his artistic-scientific PhD at the HafenCity University in Hamburg, which will be published in July 2023 under the title ‘More-Than-Human Choreography. Handling Things between Logistics and Entanglement’ by transcript. Since 2015, Moritz has been developing his own artistic works at the interface of choreography, research and curation, including the interdisciplinary research project ‘The Great Report’ on the relationship between choreography and logistics (2020, Kampnagel, Hamburg). In recent years, he has increasingly worked with auditory means, producing the works ‘Die Anziehungskraft der Bäume’ (2021, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, FFM) and ‘Chasing Red’ (2022, Festival der Kulturregion Stuttgart). Since 2018, he has also been working as a dramaturge in the independent scene, for Heike Bröckerhoff, Jonas Woltemate, Manon Santkin and Lea Moro, among others. In his artistic work, Moritz Frischkorn searches for means of expression beyond the autonomous subject. He understands his practice as an inventory and critique of his own privilege. Since August 2023, he has been working as a dramaturge at Schauspielhaus Zurich, where he has already collaborated on the production ‘Crave’ by Sarah Kane (director: Christopher Rüping) from January to March 2023.
