tracy september is a South African musician, performer, producer, and music researcher based in Zurich, Switzerland. She has solo and collaborative music projects and also creates music for film, theatre and dance. Her music is a reflection of the many places and spaces she inhabits literally and figuratively. In her practice she works around themes of memory, spirituality and protest, with a particular passion for improvisation. tracy also DJs under the pseudonym youngseptember playing contemporary, classical and experimental music rooted in the Black Diaspora.
