Ludwig Abraham

Ludwig Abraham was born in 1986 in Bavaria, and resides in Munich. He develops projects, music, texts, and images, produces and performs in concert halls and theatres, on the radio, as well as in galleries in Europe and North America. He studied art, music, and media at the Philipps-University of Marburg as well as electronic and instrumental composition at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. From 2012 to 2015, he worked as a sound designer with Neuer Tanz, and as guest performer and conductor at Théâtre de la Ville Paris, Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam, Opéra Comédie Montpellier, as well as at many other venues. Since 2015, he has worked with the US-American ensemble Mocrep on musical theatre productions, two of which were performed in Chicago and Munich, respectively. He has worked as a composer for plays at Staatstheater Darmstadt, Theater Bremen and Münchner Kammerspiele. He has also been hired as a director and composer for the Deutschlandfunk, the Deutscher Musikrat and the Münchner Kammerspiele. His debut work as a radio play director will be broadcast on Bavarian Radio in November 2019. He was involved as a composer, actor, and co-author in the award-winning film series pretty pretty mad sad by Jovana Reisinger, which was shown both at the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and at the Kunstverein München. He has a long-standing working relationship with Alexander Giesche, which will continue in Zurich.
