Damian Hitz

Damian Hitz, born in Stans (Nidwalden, Switzerland), has been a freelance stage designer since 2003. He has collaborated with director Barbara-David Brüesch for many years, as well as with Ingo Berk and Max Merker. Hitz has worked at theatres in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including those in Bern, Bonn, Graz, Hanover, Lucerne, Mainz, Stuttgart, St Gallen, Vienna and Zurich. He designed stage sets for several Studio Braun productions at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg. Most recently: Goethe’s ‘Faust’ with Max Merker and Martin Bieri at the Vorarlberger Landestheater Bregenz, and ‘Das komische Theater des Signori Goldoni’ and ‘Sofja Petrowna / Republik der Taubheit’ (Sofya Petrovna / Republic of Deafness), based on works by Lydia Chukovskaya and Ilya Kaminsky, directed by Barbara-David Brüesch, for the Konzert und Theater St. Gallen.
