Katarina Tereh

Katarina studied theatre education at the Zurich University of the Arts and video at the Lucerne University of the Arts. In recent years she has worked as a freelance theatremaker, and video- and sound designer. In addition to freelance projects, she has worked in various capacities at the Junges Theater Basel, the Junge Bühne Bern, the Theater Basel, Die Voyeure Bern and later at Zurich as well as for the Jugendtheater Treffen Spiilplätz. According to what was required, she has collaborated as a drama teacher, camerawoman, on the turntables, among a tangle of cables or under a pile of Excel tables. After completing her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, she worked in various positions there. Initially she was a research assistant at the Institute for Art Education in a project that explored young people’s participation in art and culture. Later she gained her first teaching experience on the BA in theatre. Always interested in combining her different professions – leaving behind complicated computer issues to return to the stage, or finding her way from the editing suite to the rehearsal stage – her secret dream is to play the drums.
