Herwig Ursin was born in Zug. Since graduating from drama school in Bern (HKB 1994), he has worked as a freelance actor and musician (1. Spielbein). He has developed many plays and theatre music, including with Michel Schröder from kraut_produktion, Mischa Käser, Theater Marie (AG) and the children's theatre kolypan (Fabienne Hadorn). Herwig Ursin has been a permanent artistic accompanist to Ruedi Häusermann since 1997. As a keyboardist with drums at his feet in the duo KING PEPE and Herwig the engine, he has played a number of gigs. To provide better financial security for his family, Herwig Ursin is currently training to become a music teacher at primary schools (2. Standbein). He is set to graduate in January 2026.
