PANEL DISCUSSION ON BORDER VIOLENCE, HUMAN RIGHTS AND RESISTANCE
WITH: David Yambio, Miriam Saage-Maaß
MODERATION: Carlos Hanimann
PFAUEN
What can we do to tackle crimes at the EU’s external borders? How can we combat global exploitation and ensure the right to free movement for all?
In conversation with David Yambio and Miriam Saage-Maaß, we want to discuss the consequences of Europe’s outsourced migration policy and explore what legal action can be taken against it. David Yambio founded the organisation ‘Refugees in Libya’ in Libya in 2021. Since then, he has been working with refugees to highlight human rights violations at Europe’s external borders. Miriam Saage-Maaß works as Legal Director for the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) and provides legal support to workers in cases of global exploitation.
Join us to discuss the role of European civil society, human rights as a tool, and shared perspectives in the fight for freedom of movement.
