Siri Hustvedt was born in 1955 in Northfield, Minnesota. She studied literature at Columbia University and earned her PhD with a thesis on Charles Dickens. To date, she has published seven novels. She achieved her international breakthrough with WHAT I LOVED. Her most recent publications include THE BLAZING WORLD and MEMORIES OF THE FUTURE. At the same time, she is a prominent essayist.
