WITH: Mike Müller & Guests
PFAUEN
Mike Müller, the gatekeeper, is holding people up. Some are passing through the gate (Pforte) because they want to head home after a long day’s work. Others are arriving for their shift and don’t want to be delayed, while some just want to take a look around the building and have a few questions. Mike Müller certainly has a few questions of his own for those passing by. Officially, it’s called 'Talk.' At the gate, they just call it 'Chit-chat.' It can be deeply serious or seriously lighthearted. And some things simply can’t be talked about—you have to sing about them.
On January 31st, a group of people who are still strangers to one another will gather to get acquainted at the "Pförtner-Klatsch" (Porter’s Gossip). Among them is the candidate for Mayor, Përparim Avdili, who—despite recommendations from the Weltwoche—refused to change his name to Armin Adilli or Illi. Reena Krishnaraja from Appenzell will also be visiting the Porter’s Lodge, as the Porter wishes to introduce her to the artistic management. Author Katja Früh is set to appear as well—not to audition as a former actress, "God forbid" (her own words), but to drop off her latest book. Ensemble member Florian Voigt will perform an enchanting Spanish art song before heading off to the 8:30 PM premiere of STÜTZLIWÖSCH TRE at the Schauspielhauskeller (he himself delivers a glorious performance in STÜTZLIWÖSCH DUE). And right at the start, because the Porter is late for his shift change, the ensemble’s psychologist and actress Rahel Hubacher will mind the lodge for a few minutes. The reason for this? A clever dramaturgical trick. The entire house simply thinks she is magnificent.
PFORTE begins at 8 p.m. and lasts no longer than a bad B-movie. There is no intermission, but cool drinks are available at reasonable prices afterwards.
