For the time being, teacher Ronald Rupp appears to have reached the climax of his career. Popular with his pupils, Headmaster Schütz would like to propose him as his successor. Great changes are also afoot in Rupp’s private life, for his wife Kathleen is pregnant. However, Ronald has a weak point: he is bipolar. And although he is stable, his detractors among the staff see an opportunity to bring him down once and for all. In these confrontations, Ronald starts to lose his grip. The young director Clara Dobbertin questions the normativity of normality and perception. How tolerant is our society of people who are different? At what point does a human being become intolerable?
