Marilena Büld, born in Cologne in 1992, is an interdisciplinary stage and costume designer. Since completing her studies in stage and costume design at the Weißensee Academy of Art in Berlin, her work has taken her to the Volksbühne Berlin, the Schauspielhaus Bochum, the Schauspielhaus Graz, the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Münchner Volkstheater, the Schauspiel Köln and the Thalia Theater Hamburg, among others.
In 2024 and 2025, productions in which she was involved were invited to the radikal jung festival at the Münchner Volkstheater.
In addition to her theatre work, she is active as a scenographer in the field of film and performance. She is also co-founder and art director of the Multisex collective.
In her artistic practice, Marilena Büld deals with the themes of body, gender and representation. Her aim is to tell stories from multiple perspectives, break down traditional body images and create new visual paths for alternative spaces and identities. Marilena Büld lives and works in Berlin.
