born to shine

Staging: Sebastian Nübling & Ives Thuwis-De Leeuw

It seems beyond question that we are born to shine. The only remaining doubt appears to be: how will we shine? What do we choose? What chooses us? After all, our lives are flooded with a tsunami of influences on a daily basis. Both on- and offline. Sometimes the sheer quantity overwhelms us, sometimes it’s their force, and sometimes a sense of boredom flickers amid the overabundance. We know everything, but we can’t be well-informed about everything. We have to be selective, consolidate what we know, and above all: keep at it. Then we may just attain an overview. Then we will have the opportunity to really master something. And perhaps the copy of the copy will be a new original.

Director Sebastian Nübling, choreographer Ives Thuwis and 13 performers between the ages of 15 and 23 seek out their very own, personal passions and relate them to a world that seems far from universal.
