Anka Bernstetter

Anka Bernstetter, born 1994, is a stage and costume designer.
She gained her first theatre experiences in the projects Fegefeuer in Ingolstadt by Susanne Kennedy, Zement by Dimiter Gotscheff and in Beute Frauen Krieg by Karin Henkel. Following these productions, she studied stage/costume design at the HfBK Dresden with Barbara Ehnes and Kattrin Michel.

From the 19/20 season onwards, she has worked as an assistant stage designer at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, where she collaborated with the teams of Christopher Rüping, Leonie Böhm, Alexander Giesche, Trajal Harrell and Nicolas Stemann, among others. Her own spatial works were created for the reading Trauer ist das Ding mit Federn, the theatre project Dekalog for Christopher Rüping's digital space (stage with Natascha Leonie Simons) as well as for Club 3 Schlechte Zeiten - Geile Scheisse with Marta Piras, Lucien Haug, Kofi Boanyah, Mona Eglsoer and Miriam Schliehe.
Various working relationships arose from the encounters of her assistance. In the 21/22 season, for example, she is designing the set for Momo together with Alexander Giesche and is also involved in the production of King Teiresias by Leonie Böhm at Theater Basel as artistic assistant stage with Zahava Rodrigo.
