Benjamin Lillie

Benjamin Lillie, born in 1985 in Siegburg, studied acting at the University of Music and Theatre Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, where he subsequently became a member of the ensemble for one year. Beginning with the 2013/14 season, he was an ensemble member at Deutsches Theater Berlin, where he met Christopher Rüping, and whom he has had a close working relationship with ever since. At Deutsches Theater, he also worked with directors such as Karin Henkel, Sebastian Hartmann, René Pollesch, Stefan Pucher, Jette Steckel, Stefan Kimmig, and Bastian Kraft and played roles such as Woyzeck, Romeo, Hans Castorp and Biff Lomann. He was awarded the Grimme Prize in 2017 for his performance in the feature film Dead Man Working. In 2021, he was named actor of the year by the magazine «Theater Heute».
