  young team joined forces to tell the story of an ambivalent father-child 
 relationship\, exploring themes of self-confidence\, shame\, frustration a
 nd unconditional love.\n\nUNO\nDriving to visit relatives in Italy\, whils
 t still transitioning\, with a squeaky voice from Testogel\, and peach fuz
 z on your upper lip?! Phew. Matteo dreads his five quasi-grandmothers and 
 everyone else in the village who still knows him as Isabella. He dreads th
 eir looks and comments.\nBut he wants to spend time with his ill father\, 
 Aldo. Thus\, they embark on a road trip\, which turns into a moving explor
 ation of masculinity and queerness. While Matteo experiences a second pube
 rty\, oscillating between euphoria and dysphoria\, Aldo feels his own stre
 ngth fading away. With fragile bodies\, they struggle for recognition and 
 understanding in each other’s reflections – until suddenly everything arou
 nd them begins to falter.\n\nDUE\nNo sooner have Matteo and his father\, A
 ldo\, arrived in the village of Belbuio than it turns into a creepy ghost 
 town. DUE leads the two protagonists straight into the oppressive clutches
  of the ‘nuns’ – the gossiping quasi-grandmothers. At least Ernesto\, the 
 blind Chihuahua\, never leaves Matteo’s side. While Aldo tries to sell the
  Fiat\, Matteo – pale with hunger for meat and men – takes to the streets\
 , where the monster lurks...\n\nTRE\nFollowing the horny ending of DUE\, T
 RE emerges from the darkness: post-apocalyptic\, sexy and scary as fuck. B
 elbuio seems to have been abandoned by the saints. Men suddenly disappear\
 , and the characters we had grown attached to appear to be possessed. The 
 two-part romantic comedy finally takes a turn\, and is swallowed up by the
  thriller. Under the Monster’s glowing eyes\, lovers Matteo and Santo meet
  again and again – or perhaps finally\, for real? In order for the village
 rs to be able to sleep peacefully\, the grandmothers organise a hunt. Will
  Belbuio become an arena of desire and persecution? Will Matteo and Santo 
 manage to find each other again? And will father\, son and Chihuahua final
 ly be reunited?
